Bugs, cockroaches, vermin – how dehumanising propaganda sets the stage

After Orbán likened judges, civic activists, independent journalists and opposition politicians to bugs, we looked at how similar dehumanising rhetoric has been used in the past: the Nazis also called the Jews “bugs”, and before the Rwandan genocide, the Tutsis were referred to as cockroaches.
