M., who was in her 40s, contacted the Patent Women’s Rights Association with a custody issue in 2023, but also reported that her ex-husband had previously tried to choke her and had threatened to kill her. According to lawyer Júlia Spronz, the case highlights the shortcomings of the Hungarian judicial system.
